DINNER THEATRE CASTING CALL

Finnish-American singers

Location: The Finnish Cultural Center, 35200 W. Eight Mile Road (north side of Eight Mile between Gill and Newburgh) in Farmington Hills.

Details: Singers are invited to join the Finnish-American Singers of Michigan, 25-voice mixed chorus, directed by Henry Naasko and accompanied by Bill Gramzow, IV. The performs a wide variety of entertaining musical selections including several Finnish folk songs, hymns, pop and blues, and other World musical masterpieces from throughout the ages. One does not have to be of Finnish descent or know how to read music to join the chorus; the only requirement is to enjoy singing. All voice parts; all ages, teens through seniors welcome.

SWEET DREAMZZZ FUNDRAISER

Location: The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn

Details: Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to improving the health, well-being and academic performance of at-risk children, will host its annual ?A Night to R.E.M.ember? fundraising event on Friday, Oct. 26. Guests will be able to stroll throughout the museum and view the new ?Driving America? exhibit. The event will feature keynote speaker, Dr. James B. Maas, an internationally recognized authority on sleep and performance. A cocktail reception will feature entertainment by the children's choir from Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences, an elementary school choir that has received numerous awards at various statewide competitions and received the coveted ?Spirit of Detroit? award. CELLO/PIANO DUO
